Aging Gracefully Is Topic of October’s GirlTalk Sponsored By Sonoma Valley Hospital

September 21, 2017

Lizellen La Follette, MD

For many women today, “getting older” has come to mean “getting better,” yet the path can be complicated by health challenges and risks, some inherent and some a result of lifestyle. Sonoma Valley Hospital’s October GirlTalk session will be led by Lizellen La Follette, MD, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, who will discuss strategies and practices supporting healthy and graceful aging for women.

Dr. La Follette will draw on recent findings from the Buck Institute’s Research on Aging Studies, discussing how influences such as nutrition, exercise, sexual desire, sleep, and supplements affect aging in women. She will also discuss new treatments and procedures designed for women, with time for questions and answers.

October’s GirlTalk will be held in the Rodeo Room at MacArthur Place from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Friday, October 20. There is a $10 donation at the door to cover light refreshments and beverages, and a no-host bar will be available. Reservations are required, as space is limited. You are encouraged to arrive by 5:45 pm. To reserve a place or for more information, call Celia Kruse de la Rosa at 707.935.5257, or email girltalk@sonomavalleyhospital.org.

GirlTalk is a program sponsored by Sonoma Valley Hospital to provide women in our community with the latest information on timely health and wellness topics and help them take charge of their health and well-being.

Educated at Harvard and Case Western Reserve, Dr. La Follette established her own health care practice in 2004, strongly believing all women are on an individual journey in life and should receive nurturing, personalized health care and access to timely decision-making medical information throughout their lives.

She was recently honored in France for her visionary global work in women’s health care, and for her support of the comprehensive “Etincelle Montpellier Cancer Retreat Model” which she is helping to bring to the US. She recently opened a practice in Sonoma at the Sonoma Valley Specialists Clinic.
