Rapid spread of COVID-19 subvariant expected to continue (sonomanews.com)
January 11, 2024The JN.1 COVID-19 subvariant now accounts for more than 60% of COVID-19 infections in the Western United States, and the total is expected to rise in the coming weeks.
Statistics from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention show that 61% of the infections from Dec. 24 to Jan. 5 in California, Arizona, Hawaii and Nevada were caused by JN.1. The next-highest variants causing the infections were HV.1 at 14.9% and HK.3 at 4.8%. Read more on SonomaNews.com
