Sonoma Valley Hospital District Board Receives Final Report From Citizens Bond Oversight Committee

December 11, 2013

At the recent Sonoma Valley Hospital District Board meeting, the board accepted the final report from the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) and commended the Committee for its work in overseeing disbursement of the proceeds raised by Bond Measure P.

The CBOC was created in early 2009 to review all expenditures paid for by the $35 million general obligation bond approved by the voters in November 2008 to renovate and upgrade the Hospital. The Committee’s purpose was to ensure that the funds provided were being used for the purposes outlined in the Bond election proceedings, and to keep the public informed of expenditures. The Committee reported it would disband now that the hospital renovation funded by the bond has been completed.

“The Committee has done excellent work providing oversight for the Measure P funds,” said outgoing Board Chair Bill Boerum. “All those who have worked on and with the Committee over the past five years are to be commended for their service to the community. They have helped to ensure the funds were used exactly as the voters intended, and their efforts have helped to make the Hospital the excellent facility it is today.”

The District Board acknowledged each of the individuals who have served as members of the CBOC over the life of the Committee. These include: Edie Barrett, Steven Berezin, Kevin Carruth, Dennis Ciocca, Richard Conley, Michael Getz, Pamela Gibson, Robert Hackman, Frank Mazzone, Bert Nevins, Sharon Nevins, David Ostler, Mary Smith, and Mary Dieter Smith.
