Sonoma Valley Hospital Offers Personal And Virtual Medication Reviews At Vintage House
July 23, 2021Sonoma Valley Hospital invites community members to have their medications reviewed by a hospital pharmacist, either in-person or virtually through a personal online visit, to ensure that there are no potential problems related to drug interactions, dosing, compliance, expiration, and side effects. The service is offered by the hospital at no cost, but appointments are required.
There are three ways to access this service. The hospital’s Pharmacy Department will be conducting in-person medication reviews at Vintage House in Sonoma on Thursday, August 5, September 16, and October 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
You can also set up the meeting via Zoom from your own home or, if preferred, by using a computer in Vintage House. These private virtual reviews can be scheduled on Thursday, August 19, September 30, and October 28, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Medication reviews are a SVH safety and healthcare initiative allowing community members to have their prescribed medications, supplements, vitamins, and over-the-counter products reviewed by our pharmacist to determine if there are any areas of concern related to their use.
“These ‘medication check-ups’ will be especially helpful for those with prescriptions from multiple physicians or pharmacies,” said Chris Kutza, PharmD, SVH Pharmacy Director. “You will have a one-on-one private session with our professional pharmacist, Maya Yoder, PharmD, to review your medications and supplements. You will be given an updated personalized medication list and relevant information to make sure that you are getting the most out of your medications.”
