Sonoma Valley Hospital Withdraws Offer For Palm Drive’s Hand and Physical Therapy Center
September 15, 2014Sonoma Valley Hospital announced it has withdrawn its proposal to assume management of West County Hand and Physical Therapy Center. West County is the rehabilitation therapy service for Palm Drive Hospital that was closed when the Hospital suspended operations in April.
The reason for the decision, according to SVH management, is that taking over the facility would require a larger investment than originally projected.
“It’s an excellent facility in all respects, and we wanted to bring it back for the Sebastopol community,” said Michelle Donaldson, SVH Chief Revenue Officer. “But as we looked at it more closely during the contract development phase, we found the initial investment costs to be significantly higher than anticipated and we could not confidently ensure an acceptable return on investment for Sonoma Valley Hospital.”
Sonoma Valley Hospital is an 83-bed, full-service acute care district hospital located in Sonoma, California. The Hospital operates a hand and physical therapy center in the city of Sonoma.
