Sonoma Valley Hospital’s Performance Improvement Fair Showcases Best Practices

October 2, 2017

The Hospital’s focus on quality care, patient safety, and improved efficiencies will be showcased in the annual Sonoma Valley Hospital Performance Improvement Fair to be held on Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18. The community is invited to attend.

The event, now in its fourth year, is organized by the Hospital’s Quality Department and the Sonoma Valley Health Care District’s Quality Committee to recognize initiatives developed by Hospital staff, departments, and multidisciplinary teams that have identified opportunities for improving patient care, safety, and Hospital performance.

This year’s PI Fair showcases 15 projects that are either ongoing or have been completed. All projects will be featured in a table-top display that explains the project’s objective, implementation plan, and a result summary. Staff members will be available to answer questions and discuss the projects.

“There are some impressive projects showcased and we encourage everyone to drop by and look behind the scenes to see what makes SVH such a wonderful hospital,” said Jane Hirsch, Health Care District Chair and member of the Board’s Quality Committee.

The PI Fair will be open to the community on Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18 from 8:00 am till 2:30 pm in the Hospital’s Administrative Conference Room (next to Hospital Administration offices).

“We have a highly committed hospital and medical staff and this provides an opportunity to showcase our efforts to improve hospital performance,” said Danielle Jones, Director of Quality and Risk Management. “The projects are implemented by cross-functional teams, many comprising physicians and hospital staff working together. The Fair promotes best practices throughout the organization by showcasing new approaches that get results, whether by enhancing patient care and safety, or streamlining operations for maximum effectiveness and even reduced cost.”
