SVH Moves Mammography Service To Hospital

February 12, 2018

Sonoma Valley Hospital has announced it is relocating its Mammography Department to the Hospital at 347 Andrieux Street, effective March 5, 2018.

According to Dawn Kuwahara, Chief Ancillary Officer, the move is part of an effort to consolidate all hospital imaging services in a single and more convenient location within the hospital.

“Women can now access our services without having to move between locations as they move from one imaging procedure to another,” Kuwahara said. She noted that it is also a step toward using the new 3D mammography system that was recently installed in the hospital and will replace the current 2D system.

“We will continue to use the 2D system until we receive approval for 3D from regulatory agencies,” Kuwahara said. “Obtaining final approval for the new system has taken longer than expected because there are multiple government agencies that oversee the use of this technology in hospitals. We hope to have the necessary approvals and begin using the 3D system soon.”

The Mammography Department’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. It is located on the hospital’s first floor, around the corner from the Medical Imaging Department’s waiting area. The department’s phone number will remain the same, 707.935.5215.

Parking and designated handicap parking are available in the main parking lot in front of the hospital and the parking lots across the street. Additional parking is located around the hospital.
