Sonoma Valley Hospital will host a virtual Community Townhall meeting on Tuesday, January 12, at 11:30 am for the community to learn about the currently available vaccines for COVID-19 as well as the distribution process. The Zoom meeting will provide available information to date on local COVID-19 Vaccination plans, how the vaccine works, and the priorities on who will be receiving it. The virtual session will be simultaneously presented in Spanish.
The presentation will be led by Dr. Sabrina Kidd, Chief Medical Officer and UCSF Medical Director for Sonoma Valley Hospital. There will be ample time for questions following the presentation and the community is welcome to submit questions ahead of time to the hospital at community@sonomavalleyhospital.org, or by calling 707.935.5257.
“To date, the hospital has administered 323 first doses of the two-dose vaccination for staff, physicians, and healthcare support staff, and we plan to begin providing the second dose beginning the week of January 11,” said Dr. Kidd. “We are pleased to report that the vaccine has been very well tolerated with no contrary reactions and only minimal site reactions.”
A copy of Dr. Kidd’s presentation can be requested after the meeting by emailing the hospital’s Community Outreach Department at community@sonomavalleyhospital.org or calling 707.935.5257.
