SVH Will Host Monthly Informational Seminars On Weight-Loss Surgery

Sonoma Valley Hospital and the North Bay Metabolic and Surgery Institute will offer  informational seminars for those interested in learning more about weight-loss (Bariatric) surgery, and how it can help resolve diseases associated with obesity. There is no cost for the seminars, which will be held monthly on the second Wednesday of each month, at Sonoma Valley Hospital in the Administrative Conference Room, from 5:30 pm till 7:00 pm, beginning Wednesday, January 11.

The informational seminars will be led by Scott Perryman, MD, a board certified surgeon trained in Advanced Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Stanford University. He will explain the different types of procedures offered and share recent findings of evidence-based metabolic changes the procedure has produced.

Attendees will learn about the process of qualifying for, and undergoing, bariatric surgery, including pre- and post-surgical support, lifestyle and nutrition education provided, and assistance in obtaining insurance coverage. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
