“Women & Stress” Is Topic Of September GirlTalk Event

How to manage stress before it impacts our mind and body is the topic of the next educational event for women offered as part of the GirlTalkTM discussion series on women’s health topics, sponsored by Sonoma Valley Hospital.GT Logo FINAL

The featured speaker, Patricia Brooks, LCSW, PhD, will discuss the tools and inspiration women can use to stay relaxed and optimistic, and achieve balance in their life. She will also offer tips and coping strategies to manage stress, and lead practice of some useful techniques.

Dr. Brooks is a licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and holds a PhD in Healing Psychology and Integrative Medicine. She has worked in the health care field for more than 40 years, specializing in the Mind/Body connection. A certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with an eclectic treatment approach tailored to individual’s needs, Dr. Brooks designed and implemented numerous Integrative Medicine Programs including one at Sonoma Valley Hospital.

The event will be held on Friday, September 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Community Café, 875 West Napa Street, Sonoma. There is no cost for attendance; food and beverages will be available for a small cost. A burger with all the fixings (fish, veggie, beef, or turkey) will be available for $5.00. When you RSVP, please provide your selection. A no host bar will also be available.
