Wound Prevention and Home Treatment of Wounds Are Topic of Upcoming SVH Health Talk
August 31, 2020Sonoma Valley Hospital wound care-certified specialist Joseph Cornett, RN, CWON, will lead an information session on “Wound Prevention and Care at Home,” on Wednesday, September 16 through a Zoom videoconferencing online session of “Health Talk,” a community education program sponsored by Sonoma Valley Hospital.
In his presentation, Joseph will discuss steps to prevent wounds from occurring in the home. He will also review recommended practices to treat wounds at home such as skin tears and bruising, and identify important wound prevention practices for diabetics and those in postsurgical recovery. There will be ample time for questions and answers at the end of his presentation.
The Zoom session will be available Wednesday, September 16 beginning at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. There is no cost to participate, although reservations are required. About Joseph Cornett, RN, DWC, CWON: Joseph has been a wound and ostomy nurse at Sonoma Valley Hospital for more than 10 years. He is certified with specialized training in areas of diabetic wound care and ostomy wound care, Joseph provides each patient with a personalized treatment program.
